The Heinmacht is an Imperial State located on the northern half of the Stolidy Coast, and which also controls the southern, unforested half of Ferrol. Prior to the Black Revolution, the area was called Konistova Lisa after the rulling House of Lisa.

People

Demographics

The Heinmacht has a Leonid Half-Elf majority, though also has a considerable rock gnome and civilised goblin population, and higher proportions of Warforged and Sproutlings compared to other nations.

Culture

Heinmachters are often stereotyped in other cultures as blunt and matter-of-fact. They generally prefer to see themselves as industrious and meticulous, the identity of the 'Heinmachter' emerging out of propaganda produced during the Black Revolution

Konistova Lisa's early annexation to the Leonid Empire introduced Orthodox Leonism to the area, where it became a dominant religion in urban centres, Folk Religion becoming relegated to rural areas. Later, during the Black Revolution, the Tradition of Science began to be popular among revolutionary soldiers and leaders as a form of protest.

The dominant language throughout The Heinmacht is Heinskiy, through Common Leonic has growing popularity within industry and trade.

History

The House of Lisa was a long-lived dynasty which ruled the northern region of the Stolidy Coast. This lasted up until the 140s, when the Stolidy Coast Invasion led to the house's eventual surrender to the leonid Empire. The House was allowed to continue ruling, though they were made to pay a tribute to the empire, and the Empress of Leona took direct control of the kingdom's military.

Industrialisation began in 189 LE with the arrival of steam power to the Stolidy Coast, and this led to a gradual decrease in the power of nobility, as a growing middle class of industrialists emerged, and a growing movement against Leonid and Lisa rule emerged. After Friedrich Lisa died in 192 LE, and power transferred to his eldest daughter, Johanna Lisa, the movement grew further in power, and the 'black lady' of the Lisa family, younger daughter Margerete Lisa (later, Margerete Pituch), brought the nation into active revolution in 195 LE.

The Leonid Empire backed Royalist forces, and after the revolutionary victory, they largely remained peaceful to the Heinmacht, chosing to focus their forces on the concurrently rebelling Junta and Reseggian Kingdoms. As such, the Heinmacht has enjoyed peace since its independence, even before the ratification of the Treat of Leona in 227 LE which made it one of the Imperial States.

The rest of the Meridán Region being at war, however, meant there was little opportunity for trade, and so the Heinmacht government has ever since invested heavily in the nation's industrialisation, which has made the Heinmacht a centre of industrial production following The Turf Wars.

The term "Heinmacht" originated during the Black Revolution, when revolutionary soldiers would refer to the movement as "Unser Hein Macht", Heinskiy for "Our Great Thing". The name became official following the victory of revolutionary forces in 200 LE, with Margerete Pituch, newly elected conductor endorsing the name while assuming office.

Government

The Heinmacht is led by the General Assembly, an elected council of representatives from the nation's 27 districts. The General Assembly develops and votes on legislature, and also elects from among its members the chairman, who oversees the council.

The chairman also serves as head of state and in that capacity is known as the conductor. The conductor will create a cabinet of ministers, generally from among other councilers, who thus in addition to representing their districts will manage their own portfolio.

The Heinmacht has a separate judicial branch, headed by a court of five Supreme Judges. Supreme Judges serve for life, with new Judges requiring two-thirds majority approval from the council to be appointed.

The Heinmacht has a mixed economy, with parts of industry being privatised and other parts under a centralised economic plan developed by the General Assembly.
